If you've ever had a flat tire, you know what an inconvenience it can be. The vehicles we sell here at Land Rover Fort Wayne often come with different types of spares. Keep reading to learn the difference between a compact temporary spare tire and a full-size spare tire.

You may have heard compact temporary spares called by their more common name of donut. A donut tire is simply a smaller version of your regular tire. This compact size makes it easier to carry in your trunk or hatchback. It's ideal for smaller vehicles. A disadvantage of this type is that you will need to drive no faster than 55 miles per hour and to be sure you replace it with a regular tire as soon as you can.

If you have a larger vehicle, you might have a full-size spare in the back. As it sounds, a full-size is often just like your regular tires. It's fine to drive with it as you normally would.
