A visual inspection can reveal if it is time for you to replace your tires. The tread is one of the most important parts of your tire. It needs to have a sufficient amount of tread in order for you to drive on a slick road. You can do a penny test to see if your tires have enough tread. You should not be able to see Lincoln's head. If you can, then you will have to get new tires.

Your tires may also have a tread wear indicator bar. The lines on the bar will become more noticeable as the tread wears down. Additionally, you should look for signs of damage. This includes things like cracks in the sidewall, blisters and bulges. Your vehicle may also vibrate when you drive if there is something wrong with the tires.
